I don't expect much from these guys at this point, but this is an album of Deep Purple remakes of songs from the three albums that Coverdale sang on. Not blown away by the first track. I love Purple (much more than Whitesnake actually) but would rather both bands do their own material.

This is the first video from the release:

And looks like they are doing the casino/theater circuit this spring/summer:

Looking forward to this.... they really have a great line-up on this one. Reb and Joel are both amazing guitarists. Michale Devin on bass. Tommy Aldridge on drums is back in!!! Loved Coverdale era DP so this should be awesome.

Hmmm.... Biloxi, MS ??? Something relatively close!
well, its interesting to see him do this since he fairly well ignores purple in his live sets. so its cool at least for that. but it definitely comes of as more whitesnake than purple, more metal than the original bluesy rock groove of purple.

On DP I have seen Whitesnake do live was Burn, back in '03.

cool. maybe he does do the occasional live purple track. but i dont think any have turned up on his live albums or dvds. but then im not the biggest whitesnake follower so i could be wrong.

I am not the hugest Whitesnake fan, in fact never heard them until I saw Still of The Night on MTV in '87. Before I saw them open for Crue a few months later that year I picked up Slide It In, which to me personally is a far superior album.
with Whitesnake tourdates book through November,December is Joel out of TSO or will they replace him in Whitesnake.I would think he would stay with Whitesnake.Pure specultation by me though ,but I think if he was replaced in TSO the nod would go to Bill Hudson who just played with the Savatage/TSO show in Wacken.
Joel will not be touring with TSO and I won't be surprised to see Bill to take his place. They may have someone else in mind, but Bill would make perfect sense.
