When do rehearsals begin
#1
Has the largest rock band in the world begun their rehearsals for the upcoming tour yet?  I have not seen or heard a thing yet and I have been patiently waiting for some news to come from one of the members and usually Chris Caffery is handing out little snippets to tease us with. Does anyone know anything yet concerning the line-ups? Still curious to see who's still on and who is gone.

No they haven't begun. Among others, Joel is still on tour with Cher and Chloe is on tour with Rocktopia.

WOW! Less than a month away and haven't begun rehearsing? Usually they begin about 30 days out. I guess there can't be that much involved since it's the same show for what, 3-4 years now? Maybe the new leader (whoever that maybe) feels they don't need that much time to get it done and they are not the perfectionist Pauls was?

Everyone that is touring as well as their backups have received a lengthy list of possible songs for this tour. Everyone practices and learns on their own the songs that may involve them. They get rehearsed over 2-3 weeks in Council Bluffs and songs get dropped as they narrow down the official setlist. Rehearsals typically begin right around Nov 1, with some of the folks arriving a bit sooner.

Yeah it's been two to three weeks for rehearsals for years now. Never 30 days. For any show that's overdoing it a bit unless you're going to be on tour for over a year. You also have to remember that the band members rarely change and they've pretty much done these songs, regardless of the show itself, in rotation many times before. It's just a matter of knowing the order and/or new stage directions that come in. Any new singers who may join the group only have one or two solo songs at most to rehearse so its a simpler process for them.

Do the singers get a list of songs they may be asked to sing lead on or be the backup for? Or do they need to be at least familiar with all them?

Yes - they get a list that they may be asked to sing lead on - or at least know it as a back-up.
