10 years without new material. Is TSO on its last legs?

Declining ticket sales, same production year after year. Skipping cities that once were sell outs, and overpriced vinyl rereleases. Is this what the end feels like?

Yeah, it really does feel like they're just trying to get a few more tours out of this thing, and then call it a day.

It's a shame, especially when you consider that they often talked about having several albums already in progress.  I totally understand that Paul's death and Jon's health problems were/are genuine hurdles, but I'm surprised Al and some of the other guys aren't interested in putting out anything new.  I can't remember for sure, but I thought Paul once said that he didn't want TSO to die with him.  I assume he didn't mean he just wanted it to continue as a kind of "greatest hits" act for another decade or so.

But I wonder if a new TSO album without Paul could really feel like a TSO album.  I get the impression that the stories and overall tone of the whole thing was so much his doing.   So, I can kind of understand not releasing something entirely new, but I had always hoped they would at least finish the albums that were already in progress, like Gutter Ballet and Romanovs.  At this point, though, I've given up on that every happening.  I think they'll do another couple of years of big tours, and then maybe scale down to smaller tours at smaller venues, until they finally peter out entirely.

I hate to say it, but I have found the whole act to be stale too. There is no magic left.

I guess I am old and disgruntled.

Honestly, I hope so.
I'm done going and trotting out the same shows year after year after year is getting embarrassing.
