Bryan Hartley (TSO Lighting Designer)
#1
Hi All:

If you're a fan of Bryan's work, I'm positive that you can catch his amazing work currently out on the Shania Twain tour. I have no confirmation that he is the man behind the work, but I've seen many TSO shows and it looks like the shows that he puts together. If you're planning on checking out Shania's show, the production is on par with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Hadn't heard that Bryan is the man behind Shania's current tour - though Mark Wood's son is the drummer in her band on this tour!

Bryan Hartley did recently design the lighting show for R&B singer Chris Brown's shows. This article talks about it and shows some photos of his work in action - looks very familiar: http://livedesignonline.com/briefing-roo...uth-africa

It does, but Hartley is not involved in this production. Mark Butts is the lighting designer and he has quite the resume himself (Olympics ceremonies, Superbowl Halftime shows, many concert tours, etc.). It is a pretty special show in terms of lighting and pyro though - the pyro is even shooting up from ON the stage so everyone has to be very careful about hitting their marks.

Interesting. I really thought that it was Bryan Hartley. You are correct about the pyro. Most pyro we see is at the back of the stage and this show has it near the front and shooting up through the floor of the stage. I'm sure that they probably have somebody at the side of the stage making sure that everybody's clear before setting anything off. thanks for the info.
